So if you’re a Travel Channel junkie like myself, you’ve caught yourself the show “Man v Food” starring Adam Richman.

He’s eaten some of the most ridiculous shit I’ve ever seen, and it’s disgusting to see his face burning a bright red as his nose starts running as he eats the world’s hottest dishes, however I’m still strangely attracted to his wittiness and that sly smile.

He’s somewhat awkward doing late-night interviews and not exactly a Ryan Reynolds nor Matthew McConaughey, and you may say I’m absolutely ridiculous and weird, but I’d cuddle the hell that out that Jewish lump of man.

And judging by his fascination with Gladys Knight and Jay-Z, I will rightfully assume he needs a black woman in his life.

woke up early, put a load of laundry in the machine, got ready, and went into town. i can’t wait to be back where i’m already “in town”, just saying “going into town” makes me feel country. first stop, coffee date with allison at ‘bucks, no exciting news to report to each other other than the roomie/boy drama of the semester. next stop… new years present shopping for the sir. a stop at the music center, at good wizzle and i ended up with some drum sticks, a puzzle, a toy machete, and some phone calls to the baby girls for advice… i think i’ve come up with a cute idea…but now i’m having doubts, and i’m tempted to return everything. whatever. STOKED for tomorrow. returning back to RVA with my mom, brother, katie and LITTLEFOOOOOOT. (check ‘um outtt) there will be SO many people in my apartment tomorrow night, just the way i like itttt! my first intercession class on monday :( then spending the rest of the day with my mom and brother. dolla burgers is a muuussst! so if anyone is around monday night, hit me upppp.

Uuuuugh okay I loved it. I liked every single one of the characters which is rare, the animation was gorgeous and simple, the idea that love is just a coincidence and shouldn’t be one’s ultimate goal in life was not only interesting but uplifting in a really downer sort of way which is refreshing because every other movie that has come out recently has all been about things ending positive with the boy getting the girl or the girl getting the boy or the boy getting the boy or the girl getting the girl and rarely… rarely does it actually work out that way in real life. I know. Because I know everyone in the world. I asked every single person living on this earth if they actually ended up with their first love and are still with them living happily ever after and 100% of them said no.

I’m not lying.
And 500 Days of Summer spoke that truth of the facts that I legitimately recorded and spat them back out in a wonderful movie about a boy who doesn’t end up with the girl. It’s open-ended and beautiful because of it.

Also I really liked every music-related reference and the behind-the-scenes stuff they did. There!

Thumbs up. 5 stars. 10 out of 10. Wunderbar. Fantastico. Mucho. Yay.

I’m sorry, I know this isn’t really the point here but I just want to mention that my Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Dick started dating in high school, never dated anyone else, got married after college, and are still married and in loooove like 40 years later. :O

last night I was getting ready for bed at like 1 or 2 and I heard some dudes yelling and screeching their tires in the parking lot next door. I watched from my window as they did a bunch of donuts in the iced-over lot that has a BMW and a giant metal dumpster in it. After like ten minutes as I was considering calling the cops they slammed their car into the lot sign. The sign was barely dented but their back door was destroyed. IT WAS PRETTY LOL.

ON THE PLUS SIDE: I just watched this movie and it was AWESOME.

The Bloody CVS Story (finally)

okay, I’ve been putting off explaining this story in full because I honestly am still pretty freaked out about it (SO WHY AM I TYPING IT UP NOW WHEN I AM ALL ALONE IN THIS GIANT NUNNERY). Anyway.

For some reason it’s a fairly common occurrence for me to ring people up at CVS who are bleeding openly from a visible wound. Half the time it seems like they just got injured and they’re buying bandages, the other half the person is completely oblivious to the fact that they are bleeding and I don’t feel like it’s my place to mention to crazy people that they are leaking their own blood onto their clothes.

It’s been CRAZY. ASS. BUSY. at CVS this past week. I MEAN CRAZY BUSY. I mean, there’s a huge line pretty much constantly and everyone has to ring all the time and customers are especially bitchy and people are calling constantly with the same questions over and over (“Do you have any more Zonesss? (Wii knock off” “Do you have any more (extremely specific) thing?” “Do you have it in blue?”).

So this guy comes in with a big old swollen eye yelling about Merry Christmas. Wanderers come in all the time and I figured he would just walk around and then leave but INSTEAD about half an hour later he waltzes up to my register and I grab the case of Natty Ice out of his hand and say “Do you have a CVS ca- AHHHRHG.”

There is blood POURING out of his other hand, which is clutching a Christmas card.

He drops the card in the pool of blood and there are people everywhere and as much as I wanted to just walk away and let someone else deal with him it was so busy I figured I just need to get him out of the store. I rang up the items as he said “Oh yeah I broke my nose recently.. I’m getting surgery for it soon” THE BLOOD WAS NOT COMING FROM HIS NOSE. “Man, my girlfriend is going to be pissed that I got blood on her card!” THIS IS THE PART WHERE HE LICKS THE BLOOD OFF THE CARD. He hands me the cash for the purchase and of course IT’S COVERED IN BLOOD.

I gave him the change, picked up the cash at the corner where there wasn’t as much blood and put it behind the counter with a note that said “This money is covered in blood. DO NOT PUT IT BACK IN MY REGISTER, SERIOUSLY” then he left.

There was still blood on the counter, customers still demanded to be rung up. What is WRONG WITH PEOPLE. After like… four customers?!? One of my managers made me clean up the blood and afterwards I literally said “FUCK THIS” and left the store with three hours left on my shift.

TL;DR I’m having a super awesome holiday season.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the part where right before this happened I tore my finger open on an exposed screw above the orbit gum. WTF CVS!

Starting a nail blog

Right now. 20 years I’ve been a nail biter. And I’m done. I’m done having to ask someone to open soda cans and wrappers and having to use a steak knife to open the charger compartment on my cell phone and struggling to scratch my itchy legs in the winter.
I’m going to stop biting. I’ve tried the band aids, the tape, the stinky nail polish, the regular nail polish, the fake nails and everything else under the sun.
I’m going to start a nail blog. And I don’t give a shit if you don’t like it cause I’m gunno do it anyway! This is important. I want nails. I want to get a manicure and not have the lady say “Oh these are the worst nails I’ve ever seen!”
I think each time I’ll write a little something about why biting them seems so important to me and why it’s taken 20 years to just try and finally stop.

How short are they!?: I can’t see any white at the tips or any of the nails. My index finger on my right hand is bleeding a little bit and my left thumb seriously kills because I bit too much. I had to use the spoon I was planning on using to open up the soup can for lunch. Very short.

plus some bias animator’s feelings and minus the whole bit about District 9 because I still haven’t seen it.

I’m really not expecting to love it. If I love it? I will be incredibly surprised and probably feel really bad that I loved it. I’ve been on the fence about even seeing it. I don’t see what the big deal is. There are a few tricks in Avatar that look totally amazing. I’ve heard about the Eye Control and that makes me really intrigued. I’ve seen those “worlds” before. And I’ve even seen those kinds of “aliens” before. And obviously the story is completely overused. So is there anything else to be excited about? Those are usually the things I look for, especially in a movie with animation-just simply because my major includes animation. I can’t really help it anymore. Am I going to like this? I don’t think I’m going to like this.

I’m avoiding this movie like the plague, haha. I hate 3D, I hate the rehashed story, I hate the idea that James Cameron is following some “make the most money by having the most expensive-looking visuals and paper thin moral supported by white dude buffer” formula. Fuck that!

PS I’m gonna elaborate on the CVS blood story soon, haha.
